How do the SM, Robinsons and Puregold loyalty programs work?
SM Advantage (SMAC) is SM’s free loyalty program, earning roughly 1 point per ₱200-400 spent depending on the store, with a free Start tier and a higher Prestige tier for bigger annual spenders.
Robinsons Rewards, the Robinsons Retail Group’s loyalty program, is being rebranded into Go Rewards, usable across thousands of participating stores and online partners.
Puregold runs its own Perks Club card, and separately partners with EastWest Bank on a co-branded credit card built around Puregold purchases.

- Where you actually shop most. A program only pays off if it’s tied to the store your family visits weekly, not the one you visit twice a year.
- Free loyalty card vs credit card. SMAC and Perks Club cost nothing, while ShopMore, Robinsons Mastercard and the Always Panalo Visa are credit cards with their own fees.
- How points convert. Some programs convert points to cash credit, others to store wallet balance, at different rates across SM, Robinsons and Puregold.
- Fees and renewal terms. Credit cards carry annual fees and interest a free loyalty card never will — confirm these with the bank first.
Is the SM Advantage Card the same as a credit card?
No — SMAC is a free loyalty card, and you can get a basic SMAC Start version just by registering online or through the app. BDO used to bundle a free SMAC with its ShopMore Mastercard, but since March 2024 that loyalty program was folded into BDO’s own Peso Rewards, so new ShopMore cards no longer include a free SMAC.
How is Robinsons Rewards different from a Robinsons credit card?
Robinsons Rewards is the free loyalty program, now becoming Go Rewards, separate from any bank card. Robinsons Bank also runs its own Credit Card Rewards Program for cardholders, and Metrobank separately issues a co-branded Robinsons Mastercard whose Shopping Points can convert into Robinsons Rewards points.
Does Puregold have its own credit card?
Yes, but two things are worth telling apart: the Perks Club is a free loyalty card, while the EastWest Puregold Always Panalo Visa, launched in 2025, is an actual co-branded credit card that converts Rewards Points into your Puregold P-Wallet balance, capped monthly.
Can I just use GCash or Maya instead of a card?
Both are widely accepted for cash-in and payment at SM, Robinsons and Puregold, so a physical card isn’t strictly required. What e-wallets don’t do is stack the same chain-specific points as SMAC, Robinsons Rewards or Perks Club — treat them as a complement, not a replacement.
